| CIRQUE DU FREAK : THE VAMPIRE'S ASSISTANT. |
Hello people! Yes! Another vampire movie!!! I think eversince The Twilight Saga became such a huge phenomena, all the other vampire tales starts to come alive from their graves. Like most of them, they are all adapted from books. But, this one's a bit different. Its humourous and it has many fresh faces.
Here's how the story goes : Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant is based on a popular book series by Darren Shan. Its about a 16 year-old teenager named Darren, acted by Chris Massoglia, (its like as if the author places himself into the book) whom unknowingly breaks a 200 year-old truce between two warring sides of vampires : the vampinese (vampires that kill people for blood) and the ones that doesn't kill people like a Mr.Larten Crepsley (John C. Reilly). Darren, who's obsessed with spiders, was just like his any ordinary friends in his neighbourhood : popular, got decent grades in school, stayed out of trouble and always hang out with his best friend, Steve (Josh Hutcherson). But when he and his friend stumbled upon a travelling freak show, Cirque Du Freak, lead by Mr.Tall (Ken Watanabe), everything changed; just like how Crepsley changed him into a something bloodthirsty. He then became the pawn between the vampires and their deadlier counterparts, mostly due to Mr.Tiny (who's not so tiny), while Darren must then try to survive and struggle between his friendship and the triggered war.
Eventhough I've booked for another movie, 'Did you hear about the Morgans?', and got good seatings, I still chose to watch this movie despite seating at the second row from the front! Haha. Well, its just me, die die want to watch the vampire movie. (: What I like about the movie is that apart from the humourous bit, it still has some other qualities in it, like how best friends can become enemies because of power. Its not like that kind of thing has not happen before, backstabbing happens. You can see whether this friend of yours is the type who'll be there for you or the one that is using you. Another thing that I like about the movie is that although the 'freaks' in the show are real 'freaks' like a monkey girl, a snake boy and the ribs guy (you know what I mean when you watch the movie), we should never look down on people who are handicapped or disabled. Its usually starts with 'the look' or 'the stare' which is usually uncomfortable. So, next time, dont stare. (:
I find the storyline of this movie was good. It was fast moving and easy to understand eventhough you did not read the book. I'm guessing there'll be another sequel to Cirque Du Freak : The Vampire's Assistant because the movie ended quite abruptly. Anyways, this gives me a reason to go and find the books and read them! I have a thing with vampire stories now eversince I've started reading Twilight a few years back. I find the casts of this movie very interesting. There's Ken Watanabe and Salma Hayek, just to name a few. Check out their website which starts off with their trailer. I love their website too. Its so Cirque Du Freaky!
So you freaks out there who loves vampire movies like I do, don't miss this one. You'll enjoy this one. I give this movie 4/5. (: |

Joshua here. Yeah, vampires are cool, the kind that don't kill people. Just wondering, are you going to make one about Avatar?? I can tell you, it's AWESOME!
BTW, speaking of vampires being stars now, at least a year ago, I wrote a book myself, inspired by another book: 'Skullduggery Pleasant' by Derek Landy.
It's all about magic and one of the main characters is a werewolf! If you want to read it, just send me an e-mail with your contacts! My e-mail is: jcnpcc@hotmail.com
Well, nice post anyway.

And I want to watch Percy Jackson! Ha,partly because of the lead actor. But I hope that the story would be something interesting!
